GOLD EXPLORATION IN GUYANA
Guyana Frontier Mining Corp. ("Guyana Frontier") is a public mineral exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V: GYG), and is focused on the exploration, discovery and development of precious metals deposits located within the South American country of Guyana. Guyana Frontier (formerly Shoreham Resources Ltd.) began acquiring interests in Guyanese gold exploration properties in 2007, and now holds various rights to obtain working interests in approximately 209,824 acres (84,915 hectares) of prospective lands. Guyana Frontier's main asset is the Marudi Mountain Gold Project, which was the subject of extensive exploration by previous explorers, with Guyana Frontier completing 1977.47 metres in a 2012 diamond drilling program. Guyana Frontier's goal is to develop a significant gold resource at the Marudi Mountain Gold Project, and to explore its other projects using joint venture funding.
The Republic of Guyana is a democratic, English-speaking country located along the coastline of northeast South America. Guyana is a pro-mining country with established mining laws managed by the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission ("GGMC"). Other mining companies active in the country include Guyana Goldfields Inc., Sandspring Resources Ltd., GMV Minerals Ltd., Eagle Mountain Gold Corp., and First Bauxite Corporation.
Guyana Frontier continues to hold an interest in the Favourable Lake Silver Molybdenum Property located in the Red Lake Mining Division of Ontario, Canada.
